A Life Worth Living

Things have been a little topsy-turvy of late.  I’m having lunch with my astrologer today and maybe I’ll find out it hasn’t been just me feeling this way.  What I’m finding is that miraculously I’m slightly better at dealing with the curveballs than I was 6 months ago.  Every year my capacity to relax into the flow of whatever is happening gets better.

I still start out like a rock in the middle of the river, trying hard to hold my place and prove my point.  This summer I’ve realized I change the stance sooner than before.

That feels good and useful.

All the wild things happening in my life (and the world) are just things.  I have the opportunity to decide how to react to them.  Everything.

That’s the gift we’ve been given as humans.

It’s so easy for me to get distracted and blame and worry and use excuses.

Still it’s more fun to ask what it would take to be exceptional despite all the challenges.

What about you? Any hints about dealing with craziness?  How do you remain exceptional in a world that wants you to be ordinary?

Raise Your Hand Mary – Start Up Business

Another exciting chapter in the annals of RAISE YOUR HAND!  Today’s guest is Mary Kieran of Dolce Vita Consulting.  She’s in the process of becoming a certified hand analyst and is starting up her new business.  She’s asked about how to avoid pitfalls and make the most of the direction she’d like to grow!  As always, you can be part of this monthly column simply by following the instructions on the Raise Your Hand page.

I look forward to showing you the one-of-a-kind wisdom you have in YOUR hands. Submit your hands for this monthly column, or, if you’ve never had a reading by me, I’d be delighted to offer you a fifteen minute ‘test-drive’ reading to give you immediate insight into stepping into your purpose in a bigger way. Simply subscribe to my newsletter (upper right hand column) to learn more!

Leaping and Limits

A whole bunch of people that I think are smart cookies have been talking about “The Big Leap” by Gay Hendricks.  So naturally I had to run out and find a copy (even though I live in a pretty big suburban area this was harder than you’d think).

The book didn’t have anything ‘earth-shattering’ to say.  Still it was profoundly mind altering for me to see not only how often my upper limits popped into my life just as things were going swimmingly but to see how most of my upper limit issues were directly related to my Life Lesson of trust/intimacy and surrender issues.

Bazinga!

Hendricks makes it very clear that we all have an upper limit (think of it as your own personal glass ceiling)- that keeps us playing small.

In other words, you’re love life is the best it’s ever been and you just paid off that debt that had been around your neck for years and you were asked to speak at the regional business event about your amazing service … and then … you have a fender-bender, you’re kid gets in serious trouble at school or your best client decides to pull the plug on your work.  (or all three!)

This is when we usually say, “WHY ME?”  And the whining and mulling and self-berating begins.  Until the downward spiral lands us in hot water with our honey, surprised by a new massive bill that came out of nowhere and a case of laryngitis before the big speaking gig!

This isn’t just me, right?

I spent a week at the beach musing on my personal and professional history – the highs and the lows – and realized that every single time a massive low karate-chopped me to the floor I was riding a wave of goodness.  Not just financially either.  I was enjoying time off, spending free time with friends and loved ones and I was volunteering with my favorite organizations and yes, I had the money to make choices that were good for me and those around me.

I spent a day, in my beach chair, digging deeper into those moments of hitting my upper limit and one by one I saw that my upper limit was sparked by the repetitive tapes of my life lesson.

My life lesson (like yours) is embedded in my fingerprints.

Which means it ain’t gonna change during this lifetime.  My life lesson is my ultimate learning experience here on Earth.  It’s the big daddy of learning – I think of it as my PhD dissertation in life.  Except there is not one day when I’m done defending the thing and then I’m a doctah.  Nope.  It’s the mega-watt learning experience for me and every time I get one doctorate, I’m immediately thrust into the classroom for the next highest level.

Isn’t that cool?  Isn’t that amazing?

This is why I’m so passionate about getting people in tune with their hands.  If you knew all the wisdom you had in there you could stop going to at least 87.2% of the “self-help” thingys you’ve been attending.  (yeah, I made up that number, but work with me).

The point is – you (and I) get all spooled up and and freaked out about where to start living our “right” lives and we get confused about what our focus and value and product and everything should be.  We worry that we’ll make a mistake, or let someone down and piss off the boss (or the dog) and because of that we run our lives by shoulds and someone else’s blueprint.

When we don’t know where to start we either toss ideas at the wall, like so much spaghetti, and see what sticks (and then run with it) or we curl up at home doing our best to fit in and control the world we’re in.

Either way sorta sucks.

Your hands have the way out.  Really and truly.

It’s not about predicting your future or “do this-not that” mentality.  It’s about deciphering what’s holding you hostage (your lesson – upper limit trigger), what ordinary things you’re gifted with doing in extraordinary ways (your gift markings) and your purpose for being here on Earth (your purpose).

The hard part is this — simply hearing this information is NOT enough.

It’s why I’m phasing out stand-alone readings at the end of the year.  Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE reading hands more than Camembert.    I hate handing over that much information and depth and leaving you cold to figure out the rest of the questions and paths on your own.

Your hands, magnificent as they are, are only TOOLS.

Very important and very one-of-a-kind tools but they are meant for you to use as you explore, grow and expand.

I’d love to show you how amazing you and your hands are.  If you’d like a complimentary 15 minute “test-drive” of your hands leave a note in the comments or send me an email.

Fine print: this 15 minute reading is a test-drive.  It will have relevant information and wisdom for you right now, guaranteed.  It is NOT a full-out reading and will not include translation of your fingerprints. This is for anyone who has NEVER had a hand reading with me before only please!

If you’re interested, leave a comment, ask a question or send me an email.

Raise Your Hand – Nathara

Hey there folks!

We’ve got a new format for Raise Your Hand – VIDEO!  Woo hoo.  Now you can see the hands and hear the reading – just like you’re there.  Cool huh?  Anywho – the Raise Your Hand Series is alive and well – happening on the Third Thursday of each month.  If you’d like your hand/hands to be considered for a reading please take a look at this page and follow the instructions.

Our volunteer today is Nathara – of FaeNathara.com.  I had no idea what Nathara did before our reading here.  (I make a point to do readings “cold” whenever possible), and after visiting her site I see how the hand reading can point her in more specific direction.

Thanks again Nathara for volunteering!  I welcome your thoughts and feedback.
